BEHIND THE LENS
After earning a BA in Photojournalism from the University of Minnesota, Greg Helgeson embarked on a prolific 40-year photography career. He captured iconic images of musical legends such as Prince and Bob Marley, and served as a staff photographer for alternative publications in Minneapolis, MN. His work has been featured in renowned publications including Rolling Stone, The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, Village Voice, Du Monde (Paris), and Mojo. Helgeson's photography graced the cover of The Replacements’ debut album. In 2019, he published Hijinx and Hearsay, a book showcasing his music and pop culture photography, in collaboration with the Minnesota Historical Society. For the past 44 years, he has been the official photographer for the Minnesota Orchestra.
